Prologue

Prologue

“What’s the meaning of this, Magdoleon?”

A woman holding a large scythe in her hand, is kneeling on the ground, panting heavily. She has shoulder length, wavy crimson red hair. Her body glows a light red aura, growing brighter and fainter as she breathes in and out. Her amaranth-colored cloth armor is in bad shape, with tears here and there. As her hair drifts in the wind, it looked like burning ember.

Magdoleon, the man she is talking to, is clad in a midnight blue cloth armor and stands 100 meter in front of her. He is a bald man with an azure blue tribal design on his left cheek, while giving off a cerulean glow. He holds a long spear in his right hand.

The land where they are standing on is in ruin. There are black patches of land around them, some of the places are still engulfed in flames, some are freshly-made craters of different sizes. Many bodies lay motionlessly around them. It seems like a war took place, and these two are the only surviving warriors of this war.

“Wake up, Ahnura! Ceytis is heading towards destruction! This is the best option!” Magdoleon knocks the end of the spear on the ground.

“No,” Ahnura stands up slowly, “Ceytis has long distanced itself from the human realm, and properly sustained itself! YOU ruined this system, and this world!”

“Still naive, still stubborn. But you’ve lost, Ahnura. Look around you... look at all those corpses. All these lives are lost because of you.”

“Lies!”

Ahnura grips her scythe tightly in both hands and charges towards Magdoleon. He grabs his spear and parried the first slash. Ahnura immediately somersaults and while in mid air, extended her left arm towards Magdoleon. A wave of red, burning energy is formed and launched towards him in the shape of a bird. Magdoleon pull his left arm close to his chest and swings it outward, deflecting the fire attack. He then instantly steps forward and thrusts his spear towards Ahnura, who had just landed from the somersault. She rolls towards her left side and leaps forward. She then turned back to face Magdoleon.

Sparkles of flames began to form around her as she forms her left hand into the shape of a claw. The flames began to burn and crackle as they grow in size. Magdoleon’s face grows stern as he took a few steps back.

“Solar Prominence!”

Ahnura’s eyes glows bright red as she spins the scythe in her hand several times before slamming the end into the ground. The flames around her began to dance and spread out in all directions. Land began to crack due to the heat emitted from Ahnura’s body. The flames travel towards Magdoleon one after another. He tries to deflect the first flame the same way he did with the firebird, but it resulted in a combustion and blasts him further backwards. His left hand is left with a burnt mark.

As the flames draw closer, Magdoleon sticks the spear into the ground and claps his palms together. The cerulean-colored aura around him grows brighter and brighter as his palms separate. When the flames are about to hit him, he pushes both his palms forward as his eyes glow bright blue, “Tide of Ascalon!”, and all the flames explode after hitting what seems to be an invisible wall.

When the last flame explodes, the wall seems to shatter, forcing Magdoleon to be thrown backwards, landing on his back.

Ahnura drops to her knees. It seems that she has ran out of energy after launching that attack.

“Your power is no match for mine, Ahnura.” Magdoleon slowly holds himself up, but it feels that his legs are weak, too, “If not for Jeramina in your hand, you don’t stand a chance against me.”

He slowly walks towards his spear.

Ahnura looks at her scythe. She rubs it a little using her thumb, and then pulled it close to her face.

“Bring the rest to Earthrealm, Jeramina” she whispered, and throws the scythe far behind her.

The scythe began to glow a silver aura as its shape slowly changes to that of a person. A girl who wears a cloth armor, seemingly young, lands on her feet and began running in the direction she is thrown in. Tears are seen drifting from her face, but she looks determined.

“I will protect the others.” she said to herself.

Magdoleon was surprised by Ahnura’s action but he paid no heed to Jeramina. He began to walk closer to Ahnura, while she could only stare at him helplessly. He extends his left arm towards Ahnura as his eyes glow light blue.

Ahnura screams.
